Content description: Experimental interactions workshop combines practices from interactive media art, experimental interactive concepts and interface technology experiments (sensor applications). Course contains excursions in subjects such as interactive physical computing, sensor technologies, microcontrollers, "misuse" of technology and MAX-MSP-Jitter programming.

Study mode: Course contains lectures, demos, hands-on tutorials and a workshop project

  • digitizers and microcontrollers: arduino, Basic Stamp, picaxe, I-cube
  • software: MAX-MSP-Jitter

 

Learning outcomes:

• overview of expanded possibilities of interactive technology
• ability to experiment independently with the sensor technologies
• hands on experience in a small scale interactive experiment applying physical interfaces
• basics in sensor interaction programming
